Dr. Katisha Robinson-Smith is an accomplished academic leader with over 20 years of experience in higher education, currently serving as Assistant Dean of Teaching and Learning at DeVry University. She holds a PhD in Higher Education Administration, an MBA, and a BA in Journalism. Her expertise encompasses faculty oversight, curriculum development, budget management, and successfully securing long-term institutional accreditations.


Beyond her executive roles, Dr. Robinson-Smith has served as Board Secretary for the Association of Pan African Doctoral Scholars and held public service positions, including Press Deputy and South LA Area Director for the City of Los Angeles, Mayor’s Office. Committed to faith and community, she leads her church prayer team and remains dedicated to her personal mission of fostering student success and helping others achieve their educational goals.

APADS is a support organization that fosters and provides mentoring support for Pan-African students and scholars.  We are concerned both with ensuring the academic success of students pursuing a doctoral degree and supporting the professional development of Pan-African scholars in educational research and corporate settings. 

We are a multifaceted non-profit organization interested in developing our community through the successes of our Members.
